Water Softening System overview
A water softening system removes calcium and magnesium (hardness) from water, preventing scale from forming in the boiler and piping. Even a 1 mm scale layer significantly reduces heat transfer and increases fuel consumption.
For steam boilers we select and install resin softeners, reverse osmosis and chemical dosing units based on boiler capacity and water analysis.
Boiler life
Scale and corrosion are prevented, extending boiler life.
Fuel savings
10-15% savings thanks to clean heating surfaces.
Automatic regeneration
Automatic volume or time-based operation.
Chemical dosing
Full protection with oxygen scavenger and pH adjuster.

Frequently asked questions
Is water softening mandatory for a steam boiler?
In practice, yes. Unsoftened water quickly forms scale, causing the furnace and tubes to overheat and be damaged.
